I bought these pony books for Mason

I’ll give Mason these very fun books after he has watched the movie.

Just when I think that Hasbro’s pony franchise can’t become any better, it does become better.

My ticket to the DECC Northland Senior Expo

I’m looking forward to attending this DECC event that is within walking distance of my King Manor apartment.  Perhaps, I’ll find job leads to get employment with a decent take-home pay, while establishing a meaningful and satisfying career.

A “no smoking” reminder to King Manor residents

I have never smoked anything in my life.  Therefore, I am in high spirits that the air around my apartment will be cleaner for my health.

Today, I made yummy taiyaki

Like the last batch I baked, people love my cute cakes!

Another fun hour playing Team Fortress 2

Soldier is practicing for Olympic Diving events, but forgets that he needs to land in water and not on the ground.

The connection between anime and the My Little Pony: The Movie (2017 film).

Anime fans should consider watching the My Little Pony: The Movie (2017 film).  This movie is based on the My Little PonyFriendship is Magic TV series, which is based on the rewritten pitch bible for Lauren Faust’s as yet unproduced series Milky Way and the Galaxy Girls that in turn she based upon her memories of watching Sailor Moon as a child.

I present to you the main event for the Rainbow Senior Center picnic!

This picnic food tastes real good and is always better after a walk!

I may go two or three days without eating meat, for health reasons.  But, I’ll never entirely give up on eating meat.

How did you like my Rainbow Senior Center picnic presentation?

The multipurpose trails north of the River Inn Visitors Center parking lot

I wish that the federal government would create a new Civilian Conservation Corps.  That is what the (CCC) on that sign stands for.  I can imagine myself working in a new Civilian Conservation Corps.

I wish I had the time to walk more of these trails.

Jay Cooke State Park picturesque amphitheater

The amphitheater while looking northward

The amphitheater while looking southward

On the north and west side of the river from the bridge, I found this park bench.

Shirley Shepherd is well-remembered by her family.  I would love to put up two, similar park benches to remember my mother and father on the Duluth Lakewalk.

This is the beautiful view that I saw from that park bench.

The rock talk sign on the south side of the bridge

As I always been interested in geology, I wonder why I’ve never considered becoming a geologist.

The St. Louis River seen from the swinging bridge, looking east

The recent rainstorm made the St. Louis River higher and flow faster than during sunny days.  The Minnesota Power’s nearby Thomson Hydro Station that is partly shutdown for preventive maintenance is also diverting water into the river.

The paved path to the famous swinging bridge

It was nice to see again this part of the beautiful St. Louis River!

Autumn leaf color at Jay Cooke State Park

Most people on our tour took photographs of the colorful leaves.

This is the yellow bus that took us to Jay Cooke State Park.

More neat Team Fortress 2 screenshots

I didn’t know that a ragdoll could stand on the top edge of that door frame.

I love this synchronized ragdoll jumping.

I’m looking forward to watching Star Trek: Discovery!

A foggy morning in Duluth, Minnesota

My sister sent me two gifts

I’m grateful that Susan sent me 2 informative booklets about subjects that I am interested in.

I’m interesting in advocating for parts of the waterfront master plan that have yet to be built.  The parking lot between the Chinese Dragon restaurant and the Lake Place Building was planned to have an Artist’s Plaza.  I would love to see an indoor shopping arcade for entrepreneurs to start their small businesses.

This interesting historical book gives me ideas as I write my non-fiction articles and fictional stories.

Buy a Basket Co-Op poster

I made a poster for the Buy a Basket distribution for Monday, September 25, 2017.  This will be held at noon in King Manor’s fourth floor dining room.

A rainstorm swept across Duluth’s skies

A rainstorm and a few minutes dynamically changed the colors of the sky.

I hope the people working and visiting Canal Park had remembered to bring their raincoats and umbrellas.

This morning, I was awake during the photographer’s golden hour or magic hour.

According to Wikipedia, “In photography, the golden hour is a period shortly after sunrise or before sunset during which daylight is soft and even with a warmer color temperature. This is also commonly referred to as the "magic hour." The light quality during this time is very desirable for taking photos or shooting film because unlike during harsh daylight, shadows are soft and colors appear richer.”

Here is a web site to find “the golden hour” where you live and see how sunrise and sunset change with latitude and time of year.

Sometimes, I get some fun screenshots while playing Team Fortress 2

Don’t drop your weapon, heavy weapons guy!

My taste testers love my new Taiyaki flavor

Why have cookies or cake, when you can have cookies within your cake?

I’m baking more stovetop Taiyaki

I hope my taste testers love my newest scrumptious Taiyaki recipe!

Two books for Kathy

There are now only fourteen days until My Little Pony: The 2017 Movie.  I’m sure many Bronies and Pegasisters are looking forward to seeing this wonderful movie!

Kathy and I both enjoy watching Ever After High.

I’m creating a new Taiyaki flavor

Tomorrow, I will be using Nabisco Oreo Golden Birthday Cake Flavor Creme Sandwich Cookies for my Taiyaki filling.

Thursday, September 14, 2017

Even more Taiyaki!

As these cakes are eaten without cupcake paper holders, they should be baked about a minute longer that ordinary cupcakes would be baked; so they can be held in your hands while being eaten.

I’m baking another batch of my Twin Ports famous taiyaki

These are for my anime club friends at the University of Minnesota, Duluth.  Today, I’m using GRANDMA'S® Mini Sandwich Cremes Vanilla Flavored Cookies and Kraft Jet-Puffed Marshmallow Creme for filling.

“Imagine Canal Park” at Canal Park

This free community event was held in the Northwest Iron parking lot at 44th Avenue East across Canal Park Drive from Little Angie’s.

Residents and out-of-town visitors came to share experiences they’ve had in Canal Park as well as their ideas, thoughts, and suggestions about Canal Park’s past, present, and future.

These idea boards, or ideas stations, used to evaluate pre-generated ideas and post suggestions created by event visitors, will be used to make Canal Park a destination for every member of the community and all vacationers.

These are community member generated ideas that will take time, money, and years to make real.

To learn more about Imagine Canal Park, visit imagineduluth.com.

It has been years since I last ate classic s'mores!

The police horse patrol was keeping us event goers safe.

On the way back home, I saw a kayaker on Lake Superior.

I bought seven boxes of Betty Crocker ™ Krispy Kreme Cake Mix.

I bulk-bought these cake boxes, as I didn’t want to take the 10 Duluth Heights Mall city bus to the Target department store once each week for several weeks at a time.

While I was walking back from the cinema to my apartment

I found two hopper cars and a “maintenance-of-way” (MOW) vehicle under the South Lake Avenue overpass.

This Fairmont Tamper is used to maintain the track between Duluth and Two Harbors.

I walked down to the Marcus Duluth Cinema

I didn’t find a poster for the My Little Pony: The Movie (2017 film).  But, I did find that some thieving vandal has risked arrest to steal a ten dollar movie poster.  Whoever did this vandalism in view of cameras and bright lights is very dumb.
