Anime Nebraskon 2025

To me, this looks like a fun, fan convention to attend.

North Shore Scenic Railroad at night

I found a beautiful North Shore Scenic Railroad passenger train returning to the station at night.  The train is passing under a pedestrian bridge in Leif Erikson Park.

I found another Duluth homeless sign

I wonder just how many of these signs are made by Duluth homeless people every year.

I found a Duluth homeless sign

I’ve seen at least a dozen of these “homeless please help” signs scattered around Duluth.  As the United States is the richest nation in the history of the world, here should be no homeless citizens in my Duluth.

Duluth graffiti

I found this interesting graffiti on the south side of the alley that is south of King Manor.

I attended the Lincoln Park Farmer's Market

I wonder who printed the signs for the Lincoln Park Farmer's Market.

I bought locally-grown food here at the Lincoln Park Farmer's Market.

Fun art that I found at the North Pointe Resource Center / Rainbow Center

“Every (professional) artist was first an amateur.”

— Ralph Waldo Emerson

What I found posted on the King Manor, fifth floor bulletin board

“The greater the difficulty, the more glory in surmounting it. Skillful pilots gain their reputation from storms and tempests. ”

― Epictetus

What I found on King Manor Fourth Floor bulletin board

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. The slogan ’Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

— Calvin Coolidge

I attended movie night at the First Presbyterian Church.

My friends and I saw “Inside Out” a 2015 film.  This is the first time I saw this film and it is better than I thought it would be.

While standing on a London Road sidewalk, I saw a rainbow.

I saw this rainbow a few minutes after an afternoon rainstorm.  I was walking east from my King Manor apartment to Super One Foods in the Plaza Shopping Center.

Yesterday, I attended the Farmer’s Market

This is the Farmer’s Market, where I bought good food.

This is the free salsa and chips that I ate.

What I found at the University of Minnesota, Duluth

This is the “please buy our UMD merchandise” sign at Kirby Plaza.

Climate Café is a special interest club where students talk about protecting their future lives from catastrophic climate change.  UMD students want their grandchildren to live in a world where they can walk outside without a firefighter breathing apparatus.

I attended the Lincoln Park Farmer's Market

This event happens Thursday June 13 - September 26 from 3-6 pm.  This food event happens at Harrison Community Center, 3002 West Third Street, Duluth, MN 55806.  You can buy great food at low prices.

My very tasty meal at the First Presbyterian Church of Duluth

This is my main course of American Goulash, salad, and breadstick.

This is my delicious dessert that ate with great gusto.

Excalibur Con, a cosplayer

These people were walking to the second floor of the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.

I do not know where this beautiful, crystal decanter and tray came from

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”

– Eleanor Roosevelt

What I found on King Manor Fourth Floor bulletin board

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

– Winston Churchill

Excalibur Con, the conclusion

This is one of the group discussions I attended at Excalibur Con.

At the “Looking forward with Excalibur Con” group discussion, where I joined the Excalibur Con planning group for an open Q & A discussion about the 2025 event and plans for 2026 and beyond!  I suggested inviting writer of the Forgotten Realms, Ed Greenwood.  Another attendee said, “I second that”, and then a panelist told me, “Consider that done”.

Within the Edmund Fitzgerald Hall, I found a Tyrannosaurus rex at Excalibur Con.  You never know who or what you will find at Excalibur Con.

This is my tasty Dairy Queen ® “Chicken Basket” that I ate for lunch.

Superior Street Sign

I know that my city, state, and nation needs to invest more into building apartments and homes to make our housing shortage disappear.

Excalibur Con Sunday

Excalibur Con is a Pop Culture and Tabletop Gaming Convention that has become Duluth’s premier pop culture convention.  We are supporting nerd and geek culture in Northern Minnesota.

Excalibur Con is the new name of the event formerly called “Teeb Con.”  All of the great events and fun opportunities you had at Teeb Con will return, and expanded to be better than ever.

My time at Excalibur Con 2025, Part 2

This is the web address of an artist that I might hire for commission art in the future.

On my way back to my apartment, I found two wedding photographers and a married couple.

My time at Excalibur Con 2025

I found an Excalibur Con sign on the Duluth steam plant.

The crew of this Red Bull car gave me a can of free Red Bull.

In the DECC Edmund Fitzgerald Hall, I found a Star Wars Tusken Raider and a droid talking to each other.

Leif Erikson statue in Leif Erikson Park

While going to watch the movie Despicable me 4 I took a picture of the Leif Erikson statue in Leif Erikson Park.  I had no idea I could use my digital camera for nighttime photography.

The day before Excalibur Con

I’m still deciding if I going to attend Excalibur Con or not.  This may be my only chance to attend a fan convention this year.

My homemade loaf of bread

I like to photograph my tasty bread in both sunlight and electric lights.

Yesterday, I voted at the Washington Center (gym)

I liked how this sign was on a concrete pillar.

These are the doors to the gym, that’s on the right hand side of the hall.

Yesterday, I attended the Farmer’s Market

This is the sign I found on Third Street.

This is my free, strawberry fruit smoothie.
