My lunch, the second and last course of my midday meal

Starting with a coffee and a cupcake, I then ate a plate of mashed potatoes, carrots, and dark turkey meat that President Bard cooked and then Ann gave me yesterday evening.

My rather unhealthy lunch

Coffee and a cupcake is not the healthiest lunch that I can eat.  Please don’t tell my doctor I that had coffee and a cupcake for my lunch.

I bought a Street Taco Kit at Super One

The cashier at Super One was surprised that I was buying a Street Taco Kit.  I have firsthand experience of discovering that some store workers who don’t know what is being sold in the stores that they work in.  These store workers should take some time to walk around their stores and see what is being sold in their stores.

A new pedestrian walkway has been built at Essentia Health's Duluth campus.

Until I walked to Superior Street, I don’t know that a nifty walkway that was never there before was built for Essentia Health’s Duluth campus.

I wonder of this new walkway will be there after all the Vision Northland construction is complete.

Demolition crews took down the Superior Street, Amendola Building.

The demolition crews even removed the building foundations, leaving a big hole in the ground.  This picture is looking northeast.

This picture is looking northwest.

If the Fitger Brewery ever becomes a railroad transit stop, I am sure that a future bridge or tunnel will connect the stop to Vision Northland.

Two people are moving an electrical generator at the Superior Street construction area.

I thought a backhoe was cool way to move a large, electrical generator.

As the electrical generator has wheels, why not move the generator with a truck, instead of a backhoe?

The King Manor ground floor entrance door replacement is complete!

The old door is waiting disposal, guarded by two, old orange cones.

The new door is installed, to serve many future years of comings and goings of busy residents and visitors alike.

A strong storm arrived in Duluth, Minnesota.

I hope that no additional damage is done to Duluth’s shoreline boardwalk and bicycling trails.

I bought these two cute buttons from UMD’s Student Design Organization.

I love that these buttons have authentic Minnesota slogans.

And, they assist in promoting a good cause to defend and protect a natural treasure!

Tonight, I’m playing Team Fortress 2

Here is additional evidence that when you play first-person shooter games skillfully, your AI bots under your command also play more skillfully than the other team.

I saw the Friendship is Magic series finale at Kathy’s home.

Here are some Friendship is Magic plush toys that Kathy has near her bed.

Here are some more Friendship is Magic plush toys that Kathy has on a wooden crib.

Here is Kathy’s cat, looking at us from a safe distance.  This tuxedo cat became much friendlier as the series finale played.  Perhaps, the magic of friendship that the ponies created for themselves, made Kathy’s cat friendlier to me.

Some people use dollar bills as index cards.

Top Bill:  Someone wrote down their grocery list on a dollar bill.

Bottom Bill:  I wonder who this Gloria Caruso is and why was their name written upon this one dollar bill.

I attempt to blog about a variety of subjects to make interesting posts for my viewers.

I attended the Bob Tavani House event at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church

Invited by President Barb, this is the lasagna dinner I ate at the Wednesday Church Night supper and faith formation program, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at the Parish Hall.  The presentation about the all volunteer operated Bob Tavani House was very interesting.

After the presentation I talked to senior pastor, Rev. Bill Van Oss about watching the Shady Oak Ministries episode, Amending Fences.  I then bought a bottle of milk at Super One, and then rode the bus back to King Manor.

I found orange markings on the Second Street sidewalk, south side.

It appears that something will be replaced under this sidewalk in the next few months.

I saw Jersey barriers also named as Jersey walls near my apartment.

Looking south, I saw these barriers setup on North Fourth Avenue East and East Second Street.  There will be many opportunities for construction photos between now and the year 2022, when Vision Northland construction will conclude.

I found “The love that you deserve”, Consent Week at UMD.

I got delicious tea and this important message at the Consent Week event that was hosted in the Kirby Garage in the Kirby Student Center.

These are important facts to remember in any intimate, interpersonal relationship.  I hope that everyone, regardless of who they are, will live by these consent rules.  After all, as these students reminded me, sexual harassment to sexual assault happens in all types of relationships, not just heterosexual relationships.

‘Vision Northland’ project, part 6

The Amendola Building, located at 405 East Superior Street will not be in existence for much longer.  I know that a number of different business and offices have resided within this modern structure.

I took this image of the Amendola Building looking east.

I took this image of the Amendola Building looking west.

‘Vision Northland’ project, part 5

I saw this construction work on North Fourth Avenue East, looking south.

From the parking ramp, I saw two backhoes and their operators, with additional workers digging holes on North Fourth Avenue East.

I am standing on the parking ramp skywalk, looking south to the intersection of North Fourth Avenue East and Superior Street.  I’m happy to see more progress in my Duluth.

‘Vision Northland’ project, part 4

I saw two backhoes of two different sizes on First Street.  I’m not sure why the street is being dug up for the ‘Vision Northland’ construction project.

‘Vision Northland’ project, part 3

This picture was taken on the skywalk connecting the Essentia Health Second Street Building to the Essentia Health First Street Building, looking west. I had to take these blog pictures on a cloudy day, as waiting a few days for a sunny day would mean that the construction sites would change dynamically over a few days.

This picture was taken looking east on the skywalk connecting the Essentia Health Second Street Building to the Essentia Health First Street Building.

‘Vision Northland’ project, part 2

This Essentia Health Second Street Building that contains a parking ramp, office space, a health club, and retail stores that was opened for business after I was born, opened in the year 1990, is making way for the new health center.  It sometimes surprises me that my United States is so wealthy that we can take down structures that are still useful to build bigger structures.

Unlike other bloggers, I take the time to lookup data about the subjects that I blog about.  I hope that my research gives me practice for landing a job in journalism.

This is a closer look at two information signs that tell any unaware visitors of the permanent closure of this parking ramp.

‘Vision Northland’ project, part 1

This is the first of I hope many images of the ‘Vision Northland’ project that I’ll create.  This is the project site looking east on Second Street and west of North Fourth Avenue East.

This location is looking south on Second Street and North Fourth Avenue East.

The mystery of the Essentia Health-Duluth 1st Street elevator

I wonder why there are three extra buttons inside this elevator that apparently serve no useful purpose at all.  All the Essentia personnel I’ve asked have no idea why there are three extra buttons for this elevator.

Adas Israel Congregation Synagogue after the fire

I wonder if this synagogue will rebuild on that stone foundation, or relocate to a different location.  At least the odor of burnt wood has disappeared from this ruin.

King Manor shopping carts are where they belong.

Many heretic songs will be sung and much strong beer drank in celebration of this day when both of our shopping carts are in their appointed parking spaces.  Usually, lazy King Manor residents can’t find the energy to take these carts back down to the ground level after they are finished using these.  Yes, I know that I’m imitating talking like Thor from “Avengers Assemble” animated television series.

Right street lane closed in preparation for Vision Northland construction

I hope this lane closure means that my friend Kathy will still be able to park her car on Second Street when she occasionally visits me.
