A memorial for Juamada Keller Anderson Jr. on east Third Street, Part 2

This is the memorial as seen from the sidewalk, looking north.

A young girl handed me a candle, which I accepted and then lit, putting it down to contribute to the Juamada Anderson memorial.

King Manor’s fourth floor bulletin board for May 26, 2021

It has been awhile since I updated this series.  But, I see that there are some major changes to King Manor’s fourth floor bulletin board.

My thoughts on the Sullivan Programmed Reading Books

While attending Chester Park Elementary School, I read the Sullivan Programmed Reading Books.  I can’t recall any other student reading these books.

The main characters are Sam (boy) Pat (girl) Walter (boy) and Nip (poodle dog).  Books one to 14 were reading lessons in the form of slice of life, short fiction, similar to most other reading books.

But, in Programmed Reading Book 15, two new characters, an elderly married couple appears.  Those two characters start the main characters on an amazing journey of magical adventures that ends the series with an epic adventure.  I hope that someday a group of filmmakers will make a TV or internet series based on these books from book 15 to the epic conclusion.

This week, I’m reading “I am a Unicorn”

https://mangakakalot.com/manga/i_am_a_unicorn

As a lifelong unicorn fan and as a child I have dreamed I was a unicorn; it is natural that I am attracted to stories about unicorns.

This week, I’m reading “Along New Tides” written by Merchant Mariner.

https://www.fimfiction.net/story/425483/along-new-tides

I love stories about humans who become magical creatures.  I suppose that is the reason why I love transformational stories such as “Along New Tides” written by Merchant Mariner.  This is my favorite human to Friendship is Magic creature story.

What I found at the Voyageur Lakewalk Inn

Will these still standing structures be saved when the new building is built at this construction site?

Why is there a Voyageur Lakewalk Inn toilet still at this construction site?

This week I’m reading “Doctor’s Rebirth”

https://manganelo.com/manga/ec925329

This is an interesting story of a doctor who was doing volunteer work abroad when he was trapped by an unexpected civil war and then was assassinated by a rebel soldier.  He wakes up within the body of a child in a magical world that is like a Murim novel (Martial Arts World).  And then he works his way up to become the greatest physician in that world!

Abandoned Hacienda Del Sol storage shed worthy of a History Channel series

Located in the backyard of the now permanently closed Hacienda Del Sol this small, brick structure has no apparent use.  Image was taken while I was looking northeast.

This structure is too small to be an automobile garage and more like a storage shed.  Image was taken while I was in the alley, looking southeast.

It appears that a graffiti artist decorated this shed, their art was then painted over with a censor bar, and then that censor bar was in turn painted over.  Image was taken while I was looking southwest.

This week, I’m reading the web novel “I’m an S-Rank”

An alternative title for this web novel is, “I Am Behemoth of the S Rank Monster, but I am mistaken as a cat and I live as a pet of Elf Girl”.  The good side is that this novel has a good story arcs, entertaining dialogue, and comically exaggerated characters.  The bad side is that the tiny, stripperiffic outfits that the female characters wear may annoy some readers.

Mirrors at the Voyageur Lakewalk Inn

This image, taken from the south side of East Superior Street, gives you a better image of the wall mirrors still on the back walls of the Voyageur Lakewalk Inn.

Adios Hacienda Del Sol

While I never ate at the Hacienda Del Sol myself, my friends told me that the food there was good.

King Manor chalk art, 2021 edition

I found chalk art on the structures that support the skywalk over East Superior Street, which connect King Manor (seen in the background) and the Rainbow Community Center.

The Hacienda Del Sol building of 319 East Superior Street

This building is still standing as of today, but not for much longer.

We revisit the Voyageur Lakewalk Inn of Duluth MN

The permanently closed and being demolished Inn is coming down.

I wonder why these full length mirrors, seen on the back wall of the rooms, were not removed before the Voyageur Lakewalk Inn started demolition.

We revisit Essentia Health’s $900 million dollar project, called Vision Northland.

This medical tower is much more complete than the last time we were at East Superior Street.

I am now reading the Hunter Age manga.

While starting off slow, much like a slice of life story; Hunter Age becomes an epic similar to Dragon Ball Z, with people gaining skills and massive levels of power from fighting each other.
