I
wonder if the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, (Infrastructure Investment and
Jobs Act), will give the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth money
for their projects?

The
Essentia Health, Vision Northland building is nearing completion. My image was taken from King Manor, looking
east.

In college, I loved D&D
In
one D&D campaign I was the DM of, my party found a huge cavern that had
farms worked by iron golems, farm buildings with an abundance of preserved food,
groves of trees planted alongside the canals and paved highways, an artificial
sun and moon, and an intact yet empty village and castle in the center. It was so large that it had a tropical microclimate.
Why you should not use the term “stroads”.
I
took this image of Second Street from an enclosed sky bridge, looking west between
North Second Avenue East and North Third Avenue East.
While there are plenty of streets for local traffic that also double as
highways for city-to-city traffic, no certified traffic engineer uses the term stroads. For example, the Federal Highway
Administration and my state highway administration don’t use the term “stroads”. Thus, using the term stroads when you should
use street or highway will only diminish yourself in their minds.
By the way,
as a walker, bicyclist, and transit user, I’ve never had any problems crossing street (local
traffic) and highway (through traffic) combinations. This happens because I walk using the traffic
lights, while practicing “defensive walking”.
That is walking by anticipating the actions of drivers on the street or road
and never assuming that a driver will slow down and stop, until they do so.

What is on King Manor’s fourth floor bulletin board for January 11, 2022?
I
wonder what new and reoccurring events will happen in King Manor and/or the Duluth
Rainbow Community Center during the year of 2022?

I’m reading, “When I Traveled to Another World I Was Forced to Be the Princess of the City?”
This
is a story of palace intrigue involving Yong Xiao, a transplanted modern, Japanese
police woman who was put into a magical world.
She is fighting not only to survive, but to save people, while making a
better society. Similar to Game of
Thrones, yet I find this story more entertaining. Someone should make this colorful graphic
novel into an animated live-action television or subscription streaming service
series.
