Even during the last day of June, I see that the Voyageur Lakewalk Inn sign is still
standing! I wonder how much
longer that sign will still be standing?
I hope that sign stays where it is now, as a reminder of Superior
Street history.

Grandma's Marathon 2024, the end
At the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center, I ate a yummy
Hillshire Farm ® Cheddarwurst ®.
I’m using my expensive Journalism degree to give my readers
three days of news describing Grandma's Marathon 2024.
Grandma's Marathon 2024, Part 4
I saw a Grandma's Marathon wheelchair participant,
who was racing despite the cold wind and soft rain.
Grandma's Marathon 2024, Part 2
I saw a Grandma's Marathon event motorcycle at West Superior
Street and Fourth Avenue West. It had a
cool reflection on the wet asphalt pavement.
Grandma's Marathon 2024, Part 1
These runners, most of these were walking, are at West Superior
Street and Fourth Avenue West.
When I wrote the title, I had typed 2424, instead of
2024. I wonder how fast runners will be
running Grandma's Marathon four hundred years from now.

I found another “this is not New York” sticker.
This unwanted sticker is on a post at the East First Street entrance to the Fond-du-Luth Casino parking ramp. Just
what is the message of these stickers meant to be? I already knew that Duluth is not New York
anymore than Duluth is not Boston or Chicago.

Central Hillside Farmers’ Market, part 1
“Possessive apostrophes are apostrophes (’) used with
the letters at the end of a noun to show ownership over or a close connection
with another noun. For example, if you were talking about the tail of your cat,
you can add a possessive apostrophe and an s as punctuation to show which noun
is the owner.”
My cat’s tail
Therefore, if there was just one farmer in the market,
then “Central Hillside Farmer’s Market” would be correct. However, as there is more than just one farmer
at this market, the headline should read, “Central Hillside Farmers’ Market.”

What is posted on King Manor’s fifth floor bulletin board for June 12, 2024?
The June 2024 North Point Resource Center (NPRC) / Rainbow Center calendar was revised. This shows NPRC closed on Juneteenth National Independence Day. Juneteenth is a federal holiday in the United States. It is celebrated annually on June 19 commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States. Also, look for the two cute ponies on the calendar.
What I found on Northern Pacific engine 3617 at the Duluth Depot, part 2
I found another cobweb on NP 3617. For reasons unknown to me, small spiders sure
do love to make themselves at home on Northern Pacific locomotives.
The packaged food that I ate for my dinner
While I’m aware that reduced price ≠ (does not equal)
free, buying my favorite food at a reduced price sure is easy on my wallet.
What is posted on King Manor, fourth floor bulletin board for June 12, 2024?
We are baking up some goodness on June 12 for National Peanut Butter Cookie Day! This

“....the egg creams of Avenue A in New York and the
root beer float....are among the high points of American gastronomic
inventiveness.”
- Mark
Kurlansky, 'Choice Cuts' (2002)
National Black Cow Day on June 10 celebrates a delicious ice cream float beverage also known as a Root Beer Float. That's right, the beverage made with root beer and vanilla ice cream was also called a Black Cow.

Each year on June 7, World Caring Day shines a spotlight on all the ways
we connect and show each other how much we care. After all, we should always
take time to celebrate the millions of acts of caring we see. All acts of
caring, whether big or small are important. Caring is continuous and happens
every day through compassion, support, kindness and understanding.
I attended Joanne Johnson’s ninetieth birthday party, part 2.
June 6 is National Gardening Exercise Day on the National Day Calendar
