What I found posted on the King Manor, fourth floor bulletin board for July 31, 2025.

This poster proves that people should not become real-world thieves.

What I found posted on the King Manor, fifth floor bulletin board for July 31, 2025.

I’ve seen old posters disappear, while new posters have appeared.

What is LARP Live Action Role Playing?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_action_role-playing_game

“Live Action Role Playing (LARP) is a form of role-playing game where participants physically act out their characters' actions and interact with each other and the environment in a fictional setting. Unlike tabletop RPGs, LARP involves physically embodying characters through costumes, props, and movement, often in real-world locations.”

I played a LARP during Gen Con 1997 at SafeHouse Milwaukee, “This is a thrilling espionage-themed restaurant bar with secret passageways and spy memorabilia.”  It was a modern urban fantasy game.  The players remained in the Safe House at all times and it was held before the Safe House opened to the public.  It was an early morning game.  The players were given choices to join a number of groups, and I choose the one for the US Army special urban warfare team.  Our team leader was dressed in an actual US Army service uniform that our team’s game master had borrowed from a friend.

I believe that the game was run with a fast clock, where ten minutes for day and ten more minutes for night, so 24 hours was compressed into 20 minutes.  I remember hearing a public announcement that because the sun in the game world was coming up, all vampire player characters must move into spaces without direct sunlight.  It was a fun game and wish I could play another LARP sometime in the future.

Gen Con 2025 LARP schedule that describes each event and the cost per game player, from 2 dollars to 42 dollars.

I got my loaf of bread

I don’t know what type of liquor this bread was made from.

I got a bottle of Dragon Fire Mimosa

Dragon Fire Mimosa is a sparkling Moscato wine with a pearlescent gold color and shimmery white and silver streaks. It's known for its sweet, tropical orange flavor and a balanced acidity. Each bottle also includes an LED light at the bottom that illuminates when activated, creating a sparkling effect. The wine is imported from Moldova and is a flavored sparkling wine with 6% alcohol by volume (ABV).

Walking back from the movie, I saw an event at the Clayton-Jackson-McGhie Memorial

Ordinary people here are protesting for divestment from war.

I saw The Fantastic Four: First Steps

I saw this movie in the UltraScreen ® auditorium.

This is my very delicious smash burger and onion rings.

I attended the “Festival of Sail Duluth July 11, 2025” Chapter 12

The crew of the Pride of Baltimore II sells merchandise.

I didn’t know that the Pride of Baltimore II has swivel gun.  It is sometimes fired as a theatrical prop for tourists.

I attended the “Festival of Sail Duluth July 11, 2025” Chapter 11

Pride of Baltimore II is a topsail schooner built to the lines of an 1812-era Baltimore Clipper. She is Maryland’s working symbol of the great natural resources and spectacular beauty of the Chesapeake Bay region and a reminder of America’s rich maritime heritage. Pride of Baltimore II’s mission is to educate the public on Maryland’s maritime history, tradition and commerce opportunities.

Pride of Baltimore II is available for charter and for dockside and sailing receptions in each of her destinations as well as public day sails. She can accommodate up to six paying passengers as “working guest crew” between ports of call. Pride of Baltimore II maintains an international sailing schedule. She sails with two rotating professional captains and a crew of eleven. Crew positions are open to qualified men and women sailors.

Pride of Baltimore II is operated by the 501(c)(3) non profit organization Pride of Baltimore, Inc.

The name Sundew was written in white letters on the side of the black ship.  I wonder if the black paint made the Sundew hot inside on sunny summer days.

Bunny Graffiti

This graffiti is east of the parking lot of the Greysolon Plaza.

This morning, after spending hours editing a manuscript, this meal was very tasty.

Terror Time D&D Episodes by Vibe Check D&D

First, these episodes are very entertaining, while being able to give gaming ideas for both players and game masters alike.

Second, I hope the Duluth Armory Arts & Music Center builds a low-cost animation studio.  Because, I and other people I know would love to take classes in several types of animation.  Also, some of the tabletop role-playing game groups in the Twin Ports could use an animation studio to start making animated series based on their games.  These games include but not limited to Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) 5e 2024, Daggerheart, Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game, Pathfinder, and Shadowrun to name a few.

My very tasty meal at the First Presbyterian Church of Duluth

This is my dinner party, main course.

This is my yummy dessert.

Yesterday, I saw Superman (2025)

Sometimes, I love watching movies in 3D.  I would have posted this yesterday, but after walking home in darkness and heavy rain, I decided that drying off and then warming up would the best choice for me.

I used an empty Marcus Theatres popcorn bucket that I found in a trash bin on my head for an improvised rain hat.  That popcorn bucket worked well as a rain hat.

This is my much recommended Marcus Theatres grilled cheese sandwich.

My daily bread

Someone should take the concept of “Liquor-Infused Bread” and then make it into a startup bakery.  That person could be me; or that person could be you.

This real sickbay appears much different than the ones I see on Star Trek ships.

I found a much bigger kitchen for a much bigger ship.

I see the ships I toured a few minutes ago aft of the Sundew.

I attended the “Festival of Sail Duluth July 11, 2025” Chapter 7

I have never seen that horse racing game nor know how it is played.

The Sundew office I found is small, yet rather nice.

I found that some rooms of the Sundew are closed to visitors.

I attended the “Festival of Sail Duluth July 11, 2025” Chapter 6

I found commemorative plaque for the USCG Cutter Sundew.

I found a detailed set of instructions for the crew operating the ship.

The crew’s bunk beds sure don’t give much room for the individual crew member.

I attended the “Festival of Sail Duluth July 11, 2025” Chapter 5

The fourth ship I toured was the USCG Cutter Sundew.

The Cutter Sundew is the largest ship I’ve toured so far today.

The gateway to my adventure is open for me.

I attended the “Festival of Sail Duluth July 11, 2025” Chapter 4

The third ship I toured here was the schooner Liberty Clipper.

I found ship merchandise for the Liberty Clipper.

I got a glimpse of a carpeted room below decks.

This small kitchen reminds me of kitchens found on railroad passenger dining cars.  I can find a way to talk about railroads when the central topic is about ships.

I want to know what type of use this rope knot is used for on a sailing ship.
