Someone forgot their very nice hat at the Lake Place Park.

This forgotten hat was located on the pedestrian bridge between Lake Place Park and the Superior Street construction zone.

I found a hi-rail that was parked within the Superior Street construction zone.

I wonder what that vehicle was doing in the Superior Street construction zone.

King Manor’s out of service elevator

Since yesterday, the east side elevator has been out of service.  This event has caused wait times to noticeably increase to use the one remaining elevator.

I attended the Rainbow Center’s bus ride to Jay Cooke State Park, Finale

I found a park sign on the south side of the St. Louis River gorge.

I found a tree with two trunks on the south side of the St. Louis River.

I attended the Rainbow Center’s bus ride to Jay Cooke State Park, Part Three

Fireplace smoke and sunlight make for a dynamic photograph within the Jay Cooke Park, River Inn Interpretive Center.

On the north side of the majestic St. Louis River gorge, I found this scenic overlook.

I found a picnic table on the north side of the St. Louis River.

I attended the Rainbow Center’s bus ride to Jay Cooke State Park, Part Two

On the north side of highway 210, I found these park trail signs.

While these trails look awesome, I didn’t have the time to hike these.

I take photographs of things that few people notice, let alone take the time to photograph.

Yesterday, I attended the Rainbow Center’s bus ride to Jay Cooke State Park, Part One

This is the area of Jay Cooke State Park that we had a great field trip to.

This is the yellow school bus that took us there and back to Duluth.

What I saw this morning on September 25, 2019

People tell me that my King Manor apartment building has excellent views of Lake Superior and the Duluth Harbor.  I love blue skies and blue water in my photography.

A song for the Duluth Transit Authority

I'm too sexy for my car

I'm too sexy for my motorcycle

I'm too sexy for my truck

That’s why I ride the DTA!

A food pyramid for dragon nutrition for the Ponies after People Universe

According to Gemstones of the World by Walter Schumann, there are 200 types of gemstones in the world.  As humans should eat a variety of foods for a healthy diet, perhaps dragons should eat a variety of gemstones to keep themselves healthy.  Perhaps, some gemstones are better at building dragon bones, while others are better for creating dragon blood and muscle.  Still other gemstones could act as dragon sexual stimulant foods.  As there is a food pyramid for human nutrition, someone could make a food pyramid for dragon nutrition.

I bought gifts at Jay Cooke State Park’s Office and Gift Shop

These boxed Tumbled Gemstones, purchased at Jay Cooke State Park, makes for affordable gifts on my budget.

These gemstones sure do come in a variety of pretty colors.

The Lakewalk Trail Restoration is continuing into fall

These two backhoes are parked near the trail reconstruction site.  With all the construction work on the trail that has already been completed, I would have thought that the trail would have been rebuilt by now.

Three extra images of the terrible Adas Israel Congregation fire

I took this heartbreaking picture of the Adas Israel Congregation while looking west.  At least the stone foundations appear to be intact to my untrained eyes.

The east side, front entrance is still intact and some thoughtful person had laid flowers at the front doors.

A no parking sign that once stood outside the front of the Congregation is now mixed into the pile of burnt building debris.  At least that awful odor of burnt wood has disappeared from this structure.  That is understandable, with all the fog and rain Duluth has had over the past few days.

Three more images of the terrible Adas Israel Congregation fire

I found the driveway being rebuilt between Grandview Manor Apartments and Adas Israel Congregation.  This driveway rebuilding has no connection to the Congregation fire.

Looking to my left, I saw the remains of the Adas Israel Congregation.  I wonder how that street light got damaged.  Was that street light damaged before the fire or during the fire?

I saw several “No Trespassing” signs that have been posted on the structure.

A foggy night in Duluth, Minnesota Part Two

This is a slightly different view of the same foggy night in Duluth, Minnesota.

I bought four Buy a Basket food baskets for the patrons of the Rainbow Center

If I was a character in Hasbro’s G.I. Joe franchise, I’d be called “Mother Hubbard” because I fill the Rainbow Center’s kitchen cabinets and refrigerator.

I got my King Manor Co-op fruit and vegetable baskets for September 23, 2019

Five US dollars buys this much fruit!

Five US dollars buys all these heart-healthy and very delicious vegetables!

Additional work is being done to the King Manor, Fourth Floor kitchen

The new kitchen cabinets are being installed, although this work is being completed slowly.

Days ago, the dining room cabinet was emptied of Resident Club supplies, despite the fact that this cabinet will not be replaced for days or weeks.

I saw “Promare” at the Marcus Duluth Cinema

This impressive and trippy movie is a ten out of ten!  This is the greatest action movie that I have ever seen!  I’m getting Promare on DVD as soon as I can afford it!

A foggy night in Duluth, Minnesota

I noticed that unworldly image and was motivated to capture it.  It only goes to prove that if you look for these, you can find extraordinary images in the most ordinary of places.  I can imagine seeing Princess Luna standing majestically on one of the top beams of the Aerial Lift Bridge.

I found this sign under an Interstate 35 bridge.

This sign is on the south side of the Duluth Depot’s outdoor tracks.  I found it during the Lake Superior Railroad Museum's inaugural Festival of Steam that happened this July 19-21.  I enjoy documenting small things that few people even notice, let alone blog about.

A double birthday party for two, much loved King Manor residents

This cake is for Cheryl and Frank that I bought at Super One for their King Manor Residents’ Club birthday party.

Additional King Manor Kitchen renovations were done today.

The old kitchen cabinets were cut out from the wall using a handheld mini circular saw.  Barb told me that she is happy that our club is getting a new kitchen.

A reminder of where I was ten years ago

I find it hard to believe that I’ve been a King Manor resident for ten years.  It seems that time sure flies when you are having fun.

My Fourth Floor reconstruction zone poster

My fellow King Manor residents tell me that my posters are well-designed, colorful, and are easy to read.

I saw the aftermath of the Adas Israel Congregation fire

The firefighters are still putting out hot spots in the mostly wooden building.

The firefighters used this backhoe to push down any walls that were about to fall down.  They also wanted to clear the street of the collapsed building debris to reopen the street.

Later that day, more city vehicles and personnel arrived to deal with the synagogue fire.  City crews were pushing down the unstable walls, while firefights were checking for any hot spots that might reignite the fire.

Today, I found the new “Employees Only” sign was uninstalled on the fifth floor stairwell.

I found the “Employees Only” sign that was installed on May 10, 2019 was uninstalled by some homeless person.

He or she must think that if they pull the sign off the wall that their vandalism and theft makes it righteous for them to be trespassing and sleeping in the stairwell landing for the top floor, hot water boiler room.  I have some news for you, homeless person.  Just because the “Employees Only” sign is now missing, does not make your trespassing permissible.

Sometimes I can be too cute when I write prose text

I once wrote a manuscript on winter recreation with a subchapter about hypothermia that I titled, “Stopping hypothermia cold”.  And then several months later my editor changed that title to “Avoiding hypothermia”.  Sometimes simple prose is better for the reader than too cute prose, especially when it come to a serious subject such as avoiding the physical harm of dangerous hypothermia.

I saw the aftermath of the Adas Israel Congregation fire

I saw something strange on the ground to the east side of the Adas Israel synagogue.  Thus, I walked over to investigate what I saw from the sidewalk.

I found a wet, cardboard box with two discarded coffee makers.  What is up with me finding discarded coffee makers?

I saw the aftermath of the Adas Israel Congregation fire

These pictures were taken on East Third Street, looking west in the direction of North Third Avenue East.  As a rainstorm approaches, I must act fast to take these pictures for my blog before the storm arrives at this location.

I hope this fire was started by an accident, instead of a terrorist act of anti-Semitic violence.  It would sure unnerve me to know that arson happened one city block from my King Manor apartment.

This is the temporary detour on Third Avenue East, with a gap left for the staff of Saint Ann's Residence staff to park in their parking lot.

I saw the aftermath of the Adas Israel Congregation fire

One block of Third Avenue East was blocked off by the Duluth Fire Department to fight this synagogue fire.  The city buses that use Third Avenue East were detoured to use Fourth Street.

I saw several news reporters along with their camera operators make reports about this synagogue fire.

I saw the aftermath of the Adas Israel Congregation fire

I took these photos on Third Avenue East, looking north.  The sky is overcast with rainstorms approaching, mirroring the gloom in the hearts of the civilian onlookers.

Years ago, a man who once lived in my apartment, I’ve forgotten their name, told me that this building was a Christian Church that had been turned into an apartment building.

This Jewish synagogue has no outside signs at all, so I believed that man without checking the facts for myself.  A quick Google search would have told me that this building is a synagogue.  From now on, I intend to be more careful about checking facts for myself.
