I attended Sip and Play

I had a cup of coffee, while discussing the future of Sip and Play with Amelia Pietz.  I just noticed now that her name goes from A to Z.

This is my banana bread, made with chocolate and peanut butter.

I wish that my readers could taste my very tasty bread.

At Target, I bought the ingredients for next week’s banana bread.

I think these ingredients will make tasty banana bread.

What I found outside of Duluth’s Target store.

I found part of a pizza that had been abandoned, under a shopping cart.

Duluth Taco Fest 2026

5 minutes before I got to the DECC, the staff sold out their event tickets.

 

Of course, I didn’t know the event tickets were sold out until I attempted to buy my tickets in person.

This is the closest I ever got to a taco at this DECC event.

 

I saw at least twenty people turned away from this event.

 

On the bright side, I got a healthy walk going to the DECC and then going back home.

The Duluth Taco Festival will be held at the DECC today.

I hope that the toxic smoke will be gone; so I can eat tacos at this event.

The North Pointe Resource Center/Rainbow Center

On Thursday, the center was closed because of toxic air.  The toxic air is from wildfires in Minnesota and Canada; not because I had eaten a bean burrito.

On Friday, the center was closed due to the staff having an important event at another location.  There is room on that page for more explanation of where that event was or what happened at that important event.

What did I find posted on the Second Street pedestrian walkway bulletin board?

This bulletin board is between the North Pointe Resource Center/Rainbow Center to the north and King Manor to the south. Old posters have disappeared, while new posters have appeared.

Attention!

The staff at the North Pointe Resource Center / Rainbow Center reminds people to stop feeding the local animals.

I document the continuing saga of the parking lot pothole.

Now filled with rocks, a questionable repair job, this pothole is in the former Johnson auto parts & supply store parking lot.

I saw a tricycle motorcycle, my first for the year 2026.

I saw it traveling southeast on East Central Entrance, next to Rice Lake Road and Mesaba Avenue.

Smoky air

“Northern News Now Meteorologist Allison Jacoby just informed us that the current Air Quality Index for Duluth has now crossed the 1,000 mark. This unprecedented level of air quality is dangerous to everyone. You are advised to stay indoors and run an air purifier if you can.”

 

For the past 2 days, toxic smoke keeps me indoors.  I am often wearing only my underwear and socks to keep cool, inside my apartment without AC.

I attended the Data Center Education at the DECC

What’s so bad about this proposed data center?

The Data Center Education with Charlie Berens event takes place today at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC).

The discussion focuses on AI data center awareness, human dignity, and environmental impacts.

I think that this was a thoughtful series of presentations on why we must be careful with building date centers.

I see that the King Manor residents' club meeting has been postponed yet again.

Every day, I take 3 types of multivitamin for my physical health.

This is my Bibimbap that I bought from Sunhee’s Little Table.

Because I had ordered my food after the conclusion of the fireworks show; the owner, wanting to get rid of their cooked food, gave me 2 boxes of food instead of 1 box of food for the same price.  It took me 3 days to eat all of this great food.

I found this unopened canned drink while walking to see the fireworks.  As that can was still there after the show, I took it home, and then drank it for my breakfast without any health problems.

My Bayfront Fourth Fest 2026 cheese curds

I thank ACRacebest for my love of eating my good-tasting cheese curds.  I don’t remember eating cheese curds when I was a child.  As an adult, I eat cheese curds whenever I have a little extra money.

Excalibur Con 2026

I plan on attending Excalibur Con 2026.

 

In the 2025 convention, I suggested in a panel of convention officers that author Ed Greenwood attend the 2026 convention.  One of the officers at the table told me, “Consider it done”.

My bottle of Peanut Butter Whiskey

My friend is going to make Banana Bread, made with Peanut Butter Whiskey!  I think that this combination will work because many people eat peanut butter on bananas.

The HRA offices and the resource center were closed on Friday.

Thus begins a joyful holiday weekend for me and my friends.

I enjoyed supper and then bingo games at the First Presbyterian Church.
