Today, I found the new “Employees Only” sign was uninstalled on the fifth floor stairwell.

I found the “Employees Only” sign that was installed on May 10, 2019 was uninstalled by some homeless person.

He or she must think that if they pull the sign off the wall that their vandalism and theft makes it righteous for them to be trespassing and sleeping in the stairwell landing for the top floor, hot water boiler room.  I have some news for you, homeless person.  Just because the “Employees Only” sign is now missing, does not make your trespassing permissible.

Sometimes I can be too cute when I write prose text

I once wrote a manuscript on winter recreation with a subchapter about hypothermia that I titled, “Stopping hypothermia cold”.  And then several months later my editor changed that title to “Avoiding hypothermia”.  Sometimes simple prose is better for the reader than too cute prose, especially when it come to a serious subject such as avoiding the physical harm of dangerous hypothermia.

I saw something strange on the ground to the east side of the Adas Israel synagogue.  Thus, I walked over to investigate what I saw from the sidewalk.

I found a wet, cardboard box with two discarded coffee makers.  What is up with me finding discarded coffee makers?

These pictures were taken on East Third Street, looking west in the direction of North Third Avenue East.  As a rainstorm approaches, I must act fast to take these pictures for my blog before the storm arrives at this location.

I hope this fire was started by an accident, instead of a terrorist act of anti-Semitic violence.  It would sure unnerve me to know that arson happened one city block from my King Manor apartment.

This is the temporary detour on Third Avenue East, with a gap left for the staff of Saint Ann's Residence staff to park in their parking lot.

One block of Third Avenue East was blocked off by the Duluth Fire Department to fight this synagogue fire.  The city buses that use Third Avenue East were detoured to use Fourth Street.

I saw several news reporters along with their camera operators make reports about this synagogue fire.

I took these photos on Third Avenue East, looking north.  The sky is overcast with rainstorms approaching, mirroring the gloom in the hearts of the civilian onlookers.

Years ago, a man who once lived in my apartment, I’ve forgotten their name, told me that this building was a Christian Church that had been turned into an apartment building.

This Jewish synagogue has no outside signs at all, so I believed that man without checking the facts for myself.  A quick Google search would have told me that this building is a synagogue.  From now on, I intend to be more careful about checking facts for myself.

Adas Israel Congregation, located at the corner of Third Avenue East and Third Street was gutted by fire.  I was standing on the south side of Third Avenue East and Second Street.
