While attending Chester Park Elementary School, I read the Sullivan Programmed Reading Books. I can’t recall any other student reading these books.
The main characters are Sam (boy) Pat (girl) Walter
(boy) and Nip (poodle dog). Books one to
14 were reading lessons in the form of slice of life, short fiction, similar to
most other reading books.
But, in Programmed Reading Book 15, two new characters,
an elderly married couple appears. Those
two characters start the main characters on an amazing journey of magical
adventures that ends the series with an epic adventure. I hope that someday a group of filmmakers
will make a TV or internet series based on these books from book 15 to the epic
conclusion.
