This game will be played 7:30 PM Central Time, December 23 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI.  This should be a great day for both Packers and Viking fans.

More extreme waves damage Duluth’s Lakewalk

I have never seen a park bench that’s half buried in shifting sand before.

The Lakewalk smashed by the storm

This part of the Lakewalk was hit hard, washing away the wooden deck, which I expected from a powerful storm.  But the concrete foundation strengthened with reinforcing bar for the deck was also washed away, which I didn’t expect.

This is what was a wooden platform and concrete footing for an interpretive sign.

This is a closer look at the power of moving water.  Please notice the striped patterns created on the deck support beams, made by sunlight shining through the deck boards.

The sturdy metal sign, constructed to resist mindless vandalism and metal theft as it was in the winter of 2014.  You never know when a photo you took years ago will become useful to you.

Duluth Lakewalk in Canal Park: Storm damage

A strong October 2017 storm ripped up the boardwalk and covered the bicycle trail with sand and rocks.

I suppose the city doesn’t have “sidewalk closed” signs available.

This sign is nowhere near an actual road.
