As a history buff on all kinds of topics, I loved the signs
telling visitors about how the US Navy, sea battles, and naval bombardments of 1812
shaped history.
Children stand beside one of the cannon on the Niagara’s
deck.
I can’t imagine being part of the crew, loading and
firing these cannon on the exposed deck during a fierce sea battle.
