Made with Pillsbury Funfetti ® cake mix, Starbucks

Superior Street Reconstruction Celebration, Part Eleven
This is the first car that I saw to travel on the
reopened Superior Street.
That driver needs a driving refresher course, as he or
she needs to drive on the right side of the double yellow line, not over those
lines.
That is the end of my Superior Street Reconstruction
Celebration photographic essay.
Next year in 2019, I hope that I can post the second phase in the second
year of the Superior Street Reconstruction project.
Superior Street Reconstruction Celebration, Part Ten
A worker is moving the street barriers to allow cars to
travel on Superior Street.
I saw three construction workers moving the barriers and
two journalists recording their work.
Now, is that not just typical of modern society?
This construction worker can move a barrier all by
themselves.
Superior Street Reconstruction Celebration has ended,
while Superior Street is almost ready for traffic.
Superior Street Reconstruction Celebration, Part Eight
The red dog mascot needs a handler to guild them, as
the fur suit wearer can’t see very well from inside the suit.
How the red suit appear from behind, with an adorable
tail.
Superior Street Reconstruction Celebration, Part Seven
More photos of dancing on the new street that was made
possible with choreography led by Harbor City International School students as
the Harbor City String Band performed the song “Sandy Boys”.
Some people seemed to really love dancing on the new
street.
I wonder how many other photographers, both professional
and amateur were attending this event?
I’m surprised that so few people attended this important
event to celebrate opening two blocks of Superior Street.
At least the music was good and easy to dance to.
I think that recent rainstorm and the cold may have
kept many people away from this celebration that might have attended otherwise.
I wonder if new streetcar tracks will ever be built on
Superior Street. I would love to see
streetcars, powered by hydrogen engines so there is no need for overhead wires,
on Superior Street.
I don’t think that there will be a subway line built
under Superior Street; as Second Street would be a better location for a subway
line.
Superior Street Reconstruction Celebration, Part Six
The celebration concluded with dancing on the new
street that was made possible with choreography led by Harbor City
International School students as the Harbor City String Band performed the song
“Sandy Boys”.
Superior Street Reconstruction Celebration, Part Five
The two blocks that opened on Tuesday have become the
first phase of a three year project to rebuild Duluth’s Superior Street. This reconstruction project, which took many
weeks to complete, includes completely new underground utilities below new sidewalks
and road surfaces.
Superior Street Reconstruction Celebration, Part Four
I saw a red dog mascot on Superior Street. For someone who has little interest in the furry
fandom community, I sure do have many photos of people dressed up in fur suits
posted on my blog.
Superior Street Reconstruction Celebration, Part Three
Duluth Mayor Emily Larson arrived at the celebration in
a fire truck.
Duluth Energy Systems workers listen to Mayor Emily
Larson and other speakers at this event.
Superior Street Reconstruction Celebration, Part Two
Yesterday, Harbor City International School students
attended this important milestone in Duluth’s history.

Superior Street Reconstruction Celebration, Part One
Despite today’s Superior Street Reconstruction
Celebration, work continues on the separate Minnesota Department of
Transportation’s Hwy 194 / Mesaba Avenue reconstruction project.
This photo was taken inside the Radisson hotel on Superior
Street.
According to the MnDOT web article on this
project: “The project is expected to be
completed the week of October 29.” Therefore,
if you want to take some photographs of this important construction project,
you need to take these this week.

I’m happy that King Manor residents can look forward to our Halloween party.
I might wear my Sailor Jupiter costume to this party. Do you wear a costume to Halloween parties,
or to animation and comic book conventions?

The Buy a Basket Food Co-op - baskets for October 22, 2018
One fruit basket for five dollar, more
food for much less money than you
can purchase retail.

My bathrobes repurposed as window curtains.
I didn’t have the money to purchase a new window
curtain for my living room. Therefore, I
used my bathrobes as my window curtains.
Several visitors to my apartment have told me that they liked my
creative solution to have window curtains in my living room.

I found an abandoned sleeping bag in Duluth’s Leif Erikson Park.
Why would anyone leave a useable sleeping bag in a
public park? I would love to know the
story as to why someone abandoned their sleeping bag inside Leif Erikson Park.
The reconstruction of the Duluth Lakewalk continues!
This map, northeast of Lake Place Park, gives the route
of the Lakewalk detour.
The
city does not want people on the Lakewalk at this time.

I ate Ham Breakfast Pizza for my breakfast.
As far as I’m aware of, I’m the only fan photographer
or Fantographer for Hearthstone Café food.
What’s more, my photography and blog gives the Hearthstone Café free,
user-generated advertising.

I made my second batch of banana walnut taiyaki.
What I need to do next is to figure out how to turn my
taiyaki hobby into a profitable and satisfying career while bringing this tasty
food to millions of customers.

My adventures in Canal Park - Duluth, Minnesota: Part Nine
More of what I found behind “Comfort Suites Canal Park”. I found more sections of the boardwalk ripped
from their foundations and an overturned park bench.
I don’t know about you, but those rocks came awfully
close to smashing through in the windows and doors of the Comfort Suites Canal
Park. I wonder if the next storm will have
sufficient power to toss rocks all the way through this hotel’s windows and
doors.
My adventures in Canal Park - Duluth, Minnesota: Part Eight
Or, what I found behind “Comfort Suites Canal Park”. I found it was easier for me to list my
photos in subdivisions that I took behind each hotel.
I think that the Duluth Lakewalk need to be rebuilt to
be stronger, as climate change is creating more powerful storms. Two destructive storms in two years should be
sufficient to any sane person that climate change is real.
An interesting row of rocks and a log are strewn across
the boardwalk.
The lamppost has a notice describing upcoming repair
work to be done to repair damage from last year’s destructive storm. And now this year’s storm has made that
repair work even more expensive.
I took one more photo of that unusual line of rocks and
a log deposited by the storm. I wonder
how many other such structures were made by the storm.
My adventures in Canal Park - Duluth, Minnesota: Part Seven
Or, what I found behind “The Inn on Lake Superior”. Someone needs to dig out this section of the
boardwalk before it can be reattached to the boardwalk foundation.
Lake Superior ate concrete and reinforcing bar, like
children eat candy canes.
There is a bicycle path below all that rock, gravel,
and sand.
I’m surprised that a thief hasn’t taken this section of
boardwalk away to build a home deck.
The powerful waves have shown that the bicycle path is
three layers of asphalt paving.
