In the game, the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit Marines and then the Black Operations agents mission was to eliminate anyone with knowledge of the research project, as well as bystanders such as the security guards, or bring them topside for questioning. Who ordered that mission and then why did the Marines follow those orders that are illegal under the US military criminal justice system and international laws such as the Geneva Conventions.
